SUMMARY:Serve NC Week
DESCRIPTION:ServeNC is an opportunity for every NC Baptist church to love its community in Jesus’ name through service projects. \nWe are excited to join in this effort with NC Baptists and Baptist on Mission and commit to being on mission together and display the gospel during the week of Aug. 3-10\, 2024. Throughout the week you will have the opportunity to take part in various mission projects in our community. Some of these projects may be at local schools\, with some of our mission partners\, at homes in the area\, and more. More details on the exact projects and locations will be announced. This will be a great week for anyone with any skill level to jump in and serve\, kids included! \nBelow is a list of the service opportunities we will be participating in. Read the descriptions and find one that will work for you. Sign up to let us know you are planning to attend and we will send you further information. \nSign up now\n\n\nEnka Middle School \nProject: Pressure washing the stadium\nDay & Time: Saturday\, August 3rd | 8:00-11:00 a.m.  \nLocation: 390 Asbury Rd\, Candler\, NC 28715\nNotes: Let us know if you have a pressure washer\, hoses\, or gas that you can bring to this project. We will need several to complete this project.  \nProject: Painting the stadium steps\nDay & Time: Friday\, August 9th | 8:00-11:00 a.m.\nLocation: 390 Asbury Rd\, Candler\, NC 28715\nNotes: After the pressure washing is done\, a second team will go in to complete the painting. If you have rollers\, trays\, or any other painting supplies\, please let us know. This is a family friendly project. \nEnka High School \nProject: General Landscaping\nDay & Time: Saturday\, August 10th | 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.\nLocation: 475 Enka Lake Rd\, Candler\, NC 28715\nNotes: This is a family friendly project. Let us know if you have any landscaping tools we can use. \n  \nCandler Elementary School \nProject: General Landscaping\nDay & Time: Tuesday\, August 6th | 5:00-7:00 p.m.\nLocation: 121 Candler School Rd\, Candler\, NC 28715\nNotes: This is a family friendly project. We will be mulching and tending to flower beds. Let us know if you have any landscaping tools we can use. \n  \nABCCM Hominy Valley \nProject: Build bench seating for outdoor classroom\nDay & Time: Tuesday\, August 6th | 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.\nLocation: 141 Hillside St. Asheville\, NC 28801\nNotes: Let us know if you have any construction supplies that would be able to be used for this project. This project is at the Costello House. \nProject: Pressure washing the property\nDay & Time: Tuesday\, August 6th | 8:00-11:00 a.m.\nLocation: 1914 Smokey Park Hwy\, Candler\, NC 28715\nNotes: Let us know if you have a pressure washer\, hoses\, or gas that you can bring to this project. If you have rollers\, trays\, or any other painting supplies\, please let us know. \n  \nMAPS (now known as Ascend Women’s Center) \nProject: Prepare a meal for the staff and serve them\nDay & Time: Wednesday\, August 7th | 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.\nLocation: 1710 Old Haywood Rd\, Asheville\, NC 28806\nNotes: This is a great project for those who are not able or interested in the more labor intensive projects. \nProject: General landscaping\nDay & Time: Wednesday\, August 7th | 8:00-10:00 a.m. \nLocation: 1710 Old Haywood Rd\, Asheville\, NC 28806\nNotes: This project will most likely consist of weeding and similar landscaping so it would be great for someone looking for something with less physical labor. Let us know if you have weed-eaters\, lawn bags\, hedge clippers\, etc. that can be used for this project.\n \nWestern Carolina Rescue Mission \nProject: Painting walls at the Women’s Center\nDay & Time: Monday\, August 5th | 1:00-4:00 p.m.\nLocation: 225 Patton Ave\, Asheville\, NC 28802\nNotes:  This will be an indoor project and great for anyone looking for a job with less physical labor. \nProject: Serve the Women’s Center (Dessert\, crafts\, games\, etc.)\nDay & Time: Tuesday\, August 6th | 5:00-7:00 p.m.\nLocation: 225 Patton Ave\, Asheville\, NC 28802\nNotes: This project is for women only. This will be an indoor project and great for anyone looking for a job with less physical labor. \nProject: Paint and serve. lunch at Abba’s House\nDay & Time: Tuesday\, August 6th | 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.\nLocation: 225 Patton Ave\, Asheville\, NC 28802 (Abba’s House)\nNotes: This will be an indoor project and great for anyone looking for a job with less physical labor. SUMMARY:2024 Fall Kickoff + The Collective
DESCRIPTION:We are so excited to get back into our regular Wednesday Night programing and kick off the 2024 fall season on August 28th. \nJoin us for dinner\, prayer and worship. In addition to this service\, Kid’s and Students will be kicking off a new school year with something for all ages! \nDinner is at 5:30 p.m.\, Kids and Student activities and the Prayer Service start at 6:30 p.m.   \nCost of dinner is $5/person or $20/family.  \nWe are excited to note that this week will also be the launch of us bringing back Wednesday night dinners. Join us each week this semester at 5:30 for a family meal before Prayer Groups\, Bible Studies\, LifeGroup\, Students or Kids.
