Needs are continuing to arise after the devastating floods that took place last week across WNC. We have an opportunity to partner with an amazing organization in Asheville, ABCCM, to help them clean up the damage they are facing at their Veteran’s Restoration Quarters.

When: This Saturday, August 28th from 9 a.m.-noon

Where: Veteran’s Restoration Quarters (a ministry of ABCCM), 1329 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC 28805. Participant will meet there this Saturday morning!

What: General cleanup from the flooding last week from Tropical Storm Fred. Participants need to be prepared to do quite a bit of raking, shoveling, and resetting the landscape for the VRQ, which backs up to the Swannanoa River. If you have them, you are encouraged to bring work gloves, rakes, shovels, and wheel barrels in addition to some “enthusiastic work hands”. We are also asking participants to proudly wear a Lake Hills Church t-shirt.

Who: Lake Hills Church members & friends/family (age 16+)

Why: One of our 5 priorities is “ministry” and we can come alongside ABCCM who ministers throughout Asheville. We are working to bring help and relief to the flood last week in our area. We can be the “hands and feet” of Jesus to this community.
